Shockwave Therapy
Shockwave Therapy originated in the use of fragmentation of kidney stones. Shockwaves, in principle are mechanical pressure waves, that act directly on the tissue, and are widely used for the treatment of various problems in muscles, tendons and insertion points.
By stimulating the body’s self healing capabilities, results include: An increase in blood flow and metabolic activity at the site; the re-absorption of scar tissue and calcium deposits; decreased pain; and an increase in collagen production.
With a success rate of 75-95%, shockwave therapy has been scientifically proven to relieve chronic pain with plantar fasciitis, tennis/golfer’s elbow, hamstring, achilles, and patellar tendinopathies, shoulder rotator cuff tendonitis and many other chronic pain conditions.
It is safe, drug and X-ray free, and may prevent the need for surgery. Treatments range from 5-10 minutes with 3-9 applications, depending on the condition. Most patients see results after the first treatment. For more questions, please contact us
